Kido Training Empty
PostSubject: Kido Training   Kido Training I_icon_minitimeTue Jan 26, 2010 6:21 pm

Reikon, having just come from taking a shower in her dorm, walked slowly into the Kido Classroom, late. The teacher and students were all outside already, practicing their own Kido, and so Reikon figured she was on her own for today. As she walked along the eastern wall of the cluttered classroom, she ran her slim bony finger along the spines of the books. As she did so, she read the title aloud to herself.

“A history of Kido. Bakudo for beginners. Master's tome for Kido 1-100. Controlling Reishi. The development of a shinigami.”
She began, going through the list of books, seemingly endless. It was then that she happened upon a rather old, ratty book. It had no name on the spine, in fact it looked more like a journal than anything. Tilting her head to the side, a sad smile of recognition breaking across her face, she pulled the small book out and flipped it open. Just as she had expected, it was her old training log. She didn't think the sensei would keep it. It had every kido she had learned previously, and little notes about the training so that she could remember key points she had learned, not just about that kido, but about kido in general.

As she looked through the pages she would remember the days she had spent training, every single memory crisp and clear, as if it had all occurred in the last week, instead of over several years.

”Alright class, you know the drill. Stand up and get in lines of eight, between the red lines. I want to see five groups, we'll get started on the first Kido that you'll learn today.” The teacher said, punctuating it with a few claps to try and get the students to move faster. Everyone got up slowly, people clinging to their friends and forming groups of eight as quickly as possible to avoid having to be with someone they didn't like. Reikon, ever the loner, stood without a clue as to where she should go. She had no real friends, and the groups were filling up so fast. It was then that a girl called out to her, waving for her to join that group. Reikon gave a relieved smile, running over and sitting down.

“Hello, I'm Reikon.” She said quietly, to try and break the ice.

“Hi Reikon! I'm Sakura, and these are Amarante, Senki, Ayane, Yumi, Mizuki, and of course Ryu.”

Sakura said cheerfully, pointing out each and every one of them as she moved down the list. They were all pretty and thin and cheerful, the kind of girl that everyone talked to or liked or thought about. Reikon was instantly filled with a sense of inadequacy. She was beautiful, but she didn't know that. The scars on her body and the pale skin were both markers of her ugliness to her, though she seemed to be the only one to think so. It was then that her chain of thought was broken by the barking command of the sensei. They all stood in a line, Reikon at the back, and watched her demonstrate.

“Just focus your spiritual energy, and release it in the form of a pulse. This should thrust your focus away from you, simple right? Wrong. If you screw up you might break it, or you.”
She said grimly, pointing toward the ball that stood in front of her. Suddenly it flew from the ground, hitting the back wall and landing back on the ground just a bit closer to her than before. She turned to the class, nodded once, and walked off to watch from the sidelines.

The first girl in the group walked up to the edge of the porch on which they stood, and brought one hand up. Focusing her spiritual energy, she released it in a pulse. The ball flew directly up in the air, as if she had hit it's bottom instead, landing a bit back from before. Shaking her head in disappointment, she turned and moved to the back of the line. Reikon and the others shuffled up a bit, and the next one went. This repeated until it was Reikon's turn.

Don't screw up..
Reikon thought to herself determinedly. She brought her hand up, two fingers extended toward the exact center of the ball. It seemed dirtier, more worn down since when she glimpsed at it in the beginning of class, they must have been pretty accurate, or really inaccurate. Suddenly, spiritual energy began bubbling up in the area just in front of her fingers. A burst of energy sent the ball flying backwards, hitting the wall and returning to its original spot. Unlike everyone else, she didn't have to run and retrieve it, her aim had been perfect. The power was a bit off, and it took to long to channel, but it was perfect. Even the teacher gave her an approving smile, Sakura patted her on the shoulder. It was impressive...

Kido Training Empty
PostSubject: Re: Kido Training   Kido Training I_icon_minitimeWed Jan 27, 2010 1:50 pm

Reikon sighed happily as she thought of those days. Her and Sakura would learn to get along really well after that, they hung out a few times and walked to certain classes together. However, something gruesome would happen. In fact, it was when they were practicing the next Hado that would appear in this book. But, before that Hado came the Bakudo, a much happier memory to recall. Reikon read over her notes about that class carefully, smiling at the doodle of her teaching being blown up by her own Kido. I miss those days... She thought to herself sadly, as she was once again absorbed in the memory of the learning of Bakudo number one, Sai.

Reikon walked slowly from her dorm room, stopping to make sure Neko was all ready and content, so that he wouldn't mew or make any other noise while she was away. Rei was being extra careful these days. Earlier that week the sensei had heard her meowing. Sakura, who was in the room taking care of the kitten at the time, came out and mewed very loudly for the Sensei. When the Sensei had asked about it, Sakura looked at her curiously.

"It's my new sex noise, I'm practicing it so that my boyfriend won't be disappointed. He has a neko fetish." She said in a matter-of-fact, almost innocent tone. The teacher gave her a disgusted look, and with a disgruntled release of breath, turned and stormed off to her office. Sakura was always making comments like that, and she had saved Reikon's ass more times than Rei could count. No one questioned Sakura, she was so confident and rebellious. Authority was just a fictional term to her, she would have made a brilliant single-combatant, or even Captain. Everyone respected her. Everyone including Reikon, who respected her very much.

"Come on Rei! We're going to be late!" Sakura giggled, tugging on Reikon's slim, pale hand. Compared to Sakura's deep tan, Reikon felt like a ghost. They were complete opposites, and yet best friends. Reikon looked dark and glum, with a sad expression on her face, scars like a warrior, ebony hair, and ghostly flesh. Her crimson eyes didn't help either. Sakura, on the other hand, had a deep tan, and bright golden hair. She was always smiling, her deep blue eyes always sparkling. Sakura had taught Reikon how to work with her features, and always reminded her that she was beautiful. She was the reason Reikon wore so much red, black, and white, a good accent for her natural shades, and the reason Reikon started wearing what little makeup she did.

"Oh yeah. I guess we should go then." Reikon mumbled turning and following Sakura as she ran down the stairs. They raced happily to the field, where the classmates were already getting in groups. Sakura pulled Reikon into a group of people she didn't know, and the instruction began. The teacher demonstrated the Sai Bakudo, and then instructed people to break up into partners, and practice. Reikon obviously paired up with Sakura.

"I want to go first!" Sakura declared, bringing her hand up to her chest. Reiatsu flowed around her as she prepared to use the technique. Suddenly, Reikon's arms were forced behind her back, and no matter how Reikon struggled she couldn't break free. Then Reikon remembered how the Bakudo worked. She spiked her reiatsu, instantly breaking the flow of the Kido and releasing herself. "That's a good kido, I should try it on you later." She said with a wink and a giggle.

Reikon instantly blushed, feeling a bit embarrassed. Had she really just made that comment? Reikon had told Sakura about her sexuality, but Sakura never mentioned hers. Come to think of it, she had never really dated anyone, neither had Reikon. She shook her head, and returned her thoughts to the real world.

"Bakudo number one, Sai!" Reikon called out, preforming the Kido just as she was instructed. Sakura giggled, her arms moving up toward her back and then falling down once again. "Damnit..."

"Relax, breathe, and focus. Bakudo is different from Hado, you can't just throw your reiatsu into it and it's done. You need constant control over that Reishi, you're binding me." Sakura advised gently, preforming the Kido once more as demonstration. Reikon nodded, and tried it again. This time, Sakura's arms shot up behind her, her wrists touching and her back going erect. She struggled, and even attempted to break it with Reiatsu, but failed. Once Reikon was done messing around with her, she released the techique, giggling to herself. That night, they practiced the technique in private, just as Sakura had said.

Kido Training Empty
PostSubject: Re: Kido Training   Kido Training I_icon_minitimeWed Jan 27, 2010 6:16 pm

Reikon sighed, a flame sparking behind her cheeks. She could feel her bone-white skin turning pink and then probably red as she thought of the times her and Sakura had 'practiced bakudo' with each other. Sakura had quite the interesting taste, something one wouldn't expect of the sweet and innocent girl everyone knew. Well, that everyone thought they knew. Reikon had always taken pride in the fact that she knew Sakura better than anyone else. As she thought about their many nights together she remembered one of the other, more important Kido she had learned. Bakudo number thirty, Shitotsu Sansen. A smile broke out across her face as the memory came back to her all-too-clearly.

Reikon and Sakura walked slowly to class that day, they were running a bit early so they decided they had time to enjoy the morning. Their fingers wove together,
their palms touched, and everything was wonderful. They had finally become open about their relationship, very open. Sakura ran her fingers through the ebony strands of hair upon Reikon's head, and Reikon stroked her neck. Their faces drew closer, and they kissed for a second. Then, they realized they were running late. Reikon raced Sakura to the Kido training grounds, beating her by a second and a half. Laughing and nudging each other playfully, they walked into the room to find no one was there.

"Oh yeah, we don't have class today." Sakura said in a voice that practically screamed that she knew all along and neglected to tell Reikon. Reikon rolled her eyes, walking into the room and giving her a playful push. Giggling, Sakura swatted at the air between them, motioning for her to walk away for a second. While Reikon had her back turned, Sakura pulled a book out of the many shelves, placing the tome on a desk and flipping over to a page halfway through the book. "We aren't supposed to be in the thirties for another two months, but maybe we can get a head start."

Reikon raised an eyebrow, walking over to the tome and looking over Sakura's shoulder. Sitting on the page was the tiniest writing she had ever seen. This Kido was much more complicated than anything they had learned before. The diagrams made it look simple, but the text was full of details about how to utilize a level thirty kido properly without fail. They read over the text and took in all of the information. The whole time Reikon had a bad feeling about the Kido, but she was excited to be ahead of the class, and she would do anything if Sakura asked her to do it. So, they would take the Tome with them to the training grounds and begin the training.

First, Reikon worked on her Reishi controlled. She would bubble up her reishi into a single point on her body, and when it became almost unbearable, she would release it. She continued to do this more and more, and more and more it became that much easier. This process went on for quite some time before Sakura seemed satisfied. She then decided they should both perfect the two number one kido, because one focused on control while the other focused on accuracy. They both took positions, balls in place on the field, and began to build up their reiatsu. Their reiatsu filled into their finger tips, and suddenly burst out, striking the balls. Reikon's ball flew toward the wall, hitting it and bouncing back a few inches short of the place it should have been. Again she repeated the process, this time giving it just a little more effort. This time, it would land directly where she placed it before, inside a white box that was painted on the grass. She wasn't paying attention to Sakura, only her own ball.

It was then that Reikon got a funny idea. She watched Sakura prepare to use the Kido, and just as she felt her reiatsu peak, Reikon turned on her and called out softly, "Sai!". Sakura's hands shot to her back, the wrists touching and her back going erect. Due to the amount of times Reikon had used the technique, with that same soft, seductive voice, Sakura let out a moan because of instinct. Smirking, Sakura turned to Reikon, getting down on her knees. In a playfully defeated voice, she pleaded.

"Please, let me go?"

"Oh, of course." Reikon replied, equally as playfully, and released the Bakudo. They had both already realized that while Sakura could kick her ass in everything else, there was just no beating Reikon in Kido. They would then decide it was finally time to try out the new Kido. Reikon tried it first. She brought her hands up, one tracing a triangle in the air while the other was brought into an odd position, two fingers up and the rest down, as if to help her focus her reiatsu. Suddenly, light burst from the fingers that traced the triangle, forming the triangle she was drawing in the air. "Bakudo number thirty, Shitotsu Sansen!" She cried out, as three triangles of reiatsu shot forward. The triangles struck the area between Sakura's legs, and under her arms. They carried her to a wall, pinning her there and leaving her defenseless.

"Okay, my turn!"

Kido Training Empty
PostSubject: Re: Kido Training   Kido Training I_icon_minitimeThu Jan 28, 2010 1:16 pm

Reikon's memories were flooding over her like the tears that rolled down her cheeks, dripping onto the page of her journal. Instantly startled, Reikon wiped her face dry and put the journal on the desk. Away from the range of her tears, and yet close enough for her to read it without straining. She flipped through the pages this time, skipping over that painful memory of a Kido she wished she had never learned. Reikon hated Hado, and for good reason. She skipped over the Hado they had learned and moved straight to the next Bakudo. Bakudo number four, Hainawa. Out of habit, Reikon mouthed the words, bringing her hand up as if she were about to cast the Kido. Suddenly, she was again pulled into the world of her memories.

Reikon walked alone to class, just as she had been doing for weeks. As soon as she passed students practicing their hado, she would feel a tear roll down her cheek. Instantly wiping the tear away, she hurried on and into class. Taking her seat, she looked up to the front where the teacher was beginning class.

"Alright class, today we will learn a Bakudo; we haven't covered that since the first Bakudo you learned. It's about time we got back into it, as it is a bit more difficult to use than Hado. Today, we will number number four, a common and useful Bakudo. Hainawa is difficult compared to Sai, but rather easy compared to the rest of the Bakudo in the list of hundreds, numbered and numberless." The teacher would open up, drawing out the Kanji for "Hainawa" on the board, as well as the kanji for "number four."

Reikon let out a quiet sigh of relief from the back of the classroom, removing a leather-bound journal from her bag and making a note of the name of the technique. She would also make other notes as the teacher described how the technique was done. She drew a tiny diagram of a figure bringing their arm up, energy flowing from their torso into their hand, and a stream of that energy flying toward another figure. Her drawings were crude, but they were also five second sketches. She made notes such as 'constant control', 'powerful flow', and 'precise amount of energy'. As the teacher divided everyone up into pairs, Reikon read and re-read her notes over and over, memorizing them. When the teacher walked over to her and declared the name "Ayame", Reikon was startled. She hadn't talked to Ayame since... For a long time.

Ayame walked over to Reikon, a look of sympathy on her face. Ayame was a bit more accepting of Reikon's relationship with the others, and had often times express her grief for Reikon's loss. Reikon had usually ignored her and moved on, a tear in her eye and a tear in her heart that felt like it would never get better. But now Reikon wouldn't be able to walk away, they were partners and Reikon would need to suffer through the terrible reminder for an entire class. She gave Ayame a polite nod, but no more. Rei would then turn and walk out toward the training area, no word to her partner. When they got to their spots, they would begin their training together.

"Okay, I don't really get it, so maybe you can help me?" Ayame asked, a little embarrassed. Ayame was well known for being the girl to get things right away, but Reikon had watched her in Kido class, and just like most of Rei's peers, she had a hard time here. Reikon gave a weak smile and nodded, her nod followed by a sigh of relief from Ayame.

"Alright, it's really simple. All you need to do is focus your reishi into your right, or left, palm. Then, you begin to form it into a rope within your body, coiling it around your arm so that it will lash outward when the time is right. Once you have it completely under control, just release it toward your opponent, like so." Reikon explained, picking up her right arm and beginning her demonstration. Reiatsu flared, reishi flowed, and things were going according to plan. As the reishi began to fill her arm, she formed it into a rope, imagining it coiling around her bone. Then, she called out, "Bakudo number four, Hainawa!"

A brilliant golden stream of light flew from her arm, lashing out at Ayame and wrapping around her body like a snake. It coiled around her from head to toe, tying up her limbs and leaving her completely defenseless. If only Sakura were here... She would have had too much fun with this one.. Reikon thought sadly, as she released the Bakudo and helped her partner up. She choked back the tears, refusing to be seen crying in front of anyone. Ayame gave her a grateful hug and then took a few steps back.

"My turn!" Ayame called out, repeating the process. Her rope coiled through the air, aiming for Reikon's neck. Instinctively, Reikon lashed out with a bit of reiatsu, sending the golden rope flying off course. The rope dissipated, and Reikon stood there unmarred by the technique. She gave an embarrassed and apologetic look toward Ayame, and instructed her to try again. This time, Reikon steeled herself for the technique, forcing herself to not deflect it. It would wrap around her weakly, barely having the strength to hold a dying sloth down. Reikon shook her head.

"More force! You've got it manifested, but there is no power behind it." She instructed, motioning for Ayame to do it again. This time her rope would come out almost perfectly, wrapping around Reikon. Reikon gave a smile of approval, before shattering the rope with her reiatsu.

Kido Training Empty
PostSubject: Re: Kido Training   Kido Training I_icon_minitimeThu Jan 28, 2010 9:53 pm

A sad sigh escaped Reikon's lips, tears now flooding from her eyes and staining her cheeks. Her thin fingers move to her eyes, wiping them dry. She pulled her hand away, and saw the blotchy black residue on her finger tips. Oh brilliant, her eyeliner was running. A sob racking her body, Reikon shook her head. A memory was flooding in that she did not like, a memory she wished she didn't have.

Sakura and Reikon were sitting in the back of the class. They had no shame, and so Sakura was sitting on Reikon's lap, curled up close to her. It was the middle of winter, and Sakura got cold rather easily. Reikon's pale arms wrapped around Sakura's body, white on tan, like moonlight on sand. She kissed her cheek lightly, just a brushing sensation was enough to fill Reikon's stomach with the intense concentration of butterflies that she gained whenever she touched Sakura. If this was what a crush felt like, Reikon couldn't imagine what love felt like. Maybe, just maybe, this was love. In fact, she was sure of it. So, she decided that she would tell Sakura, tell her what she thought. Maybe they were thinking the same thing, just as they had done so many times. A voice cut into her thought process, the teacher.

"Free practice, get partners and head to the indoor training area." She said, and they did as she instructed. Now in the training area, Reikon smiled as Sakura bounced around happily. She loved free training, it was the most fun part of Kido class to her. Then, suddenly, a determined manner took over Sakura's face. She turned to Reikon and smiled wonderfully.

"I'm going to practice Shakkaho, I think I've finally got it."
She declared, and dragged Reikon over with her to the targets. Sakura would square herself, bring her arms up, and prepare the Kido. In a flash, Reikon's life was over. Not literally, since Reikon was far enough away, but it felt far too much like it. Sakura had done it wrong somehow, the reiatsu exploded, her arms were completely gone. Her face had been seared, unimaginable things had happened to her in that explosion, but no one else was hurt. Reikon screamed louder than she had ever screamed before, her voice was sore a month later, she swore. Tears poured from her eyes like the floodgates had broken, and three people had to hold her back from running to the body of her lover. She wasn't strong, but this occurrence, this feeling, she felt as if she could rip a Gillain to shreds with her bare hands. The next thing she knew, she had awoken in her dorm, sobbing.

Reikon turned away from the notebook, placing it in her bag but not looking at it. She ran from the room and toward her dorm. On the way, she looked to the shore of a lake which had been placed on the grounds. Light gently caressed the shore of it. Moonlight on sand.
