13th Division Barracks

*Having passed the academy exams Tenkai was able to move on into the Gotei 13. He was finally a real shinigami. He had been placed into the 13th Division upon graduating and was now checking out his new home. The division barracks was not that bad. It was at least much better then where he had stayed while at the academy. But right now Tenkai had other things to attend to. Now that he was able to control his own power he wanted to develop it further. His first step in doing that would be speaking with his zanpaktou once again to try and learn its name. His new home was no place that he would want to be doing that and would rather find a quiet spot in the outskirts to do it. Tenkai unpacked his stuff in his new room and then grabbed his zanpaktou. Placing it in his sash he headed off to the outskirts of seireitei, rukongai.*

*Tenkai arrived back at the squad barracks and went off to find his room. Once located he headed inside and placed his zanpaktou down beside the bed. He got undressed and changed into his night robes and then slid into his bed. He was exhausted from his battle with Oni and needed some well deserved rest. While laying in bed staring at the ceiling waiting for sleeps relaxing embrace to take him he continued to ponder the one question that always stuck with him. What was his purpose. It was a deep philosophical question but it plagued him none the less. He wanted to know why he was there and more specifically what the purpose for his power. He wouldn't just settle for being considered strong, he thought everything that was had a reason to be. He now wanted to know what his purpose was in this world. This question though he knew would not be answered until he continued forward on his path. Eventually he would find his resting place in the world and fill his role when it was found. Until then though he would try to be content with what he was doing. Tenkai then slid off into a deep sleep trying to brush off this question that plagued his mind ever since he had arrived.*

*Tenkai woke up the next morning refreshed and ready to go. He really didn't have anything planned for the day now that he was out of the academy. He could always go ahead and try to learn some more kidou and pay a visit to Takahashi-sensei but he just wasn't in the mood for it. He got up and got dressed and once ready started to pace around the squad building. He said hello to the various other squad members that were roaming the halls going about their business. He made his way out of the building and stood outside the entrance and looked up at the sky. The morning sun beamed down on him brightly causing him to cover the sun with his hand. He took in a deep breath of fresh air while he continued to look up at the sky. It was a cloudless day with the sun beaming down strongly. It just seemed like one of those days were everything was right in the world. If only it were actually so. He knew somewhere far off someone was getting beaten, or mugged, or even killed. Hollows causing trouble in the world of the living. Any day that he woke up he knew was far from perfect. But so was the life of a shinigami, they were the protectors of the weak and the destroyers of the evil. Never was a day allowed where they could rest calmly. There was always some kind of work to attend to, something of urgency. It would just be a matter of when the urgency came up. Tenkai was going to take what time he had to spare and go and just relax somewhere. He chose Sokuyoku Hill since he had never been there before. Up there he would be able to scan the entire landscape of Seireitei. Walking off from the entrance of the building he made his way off to Sokuyoku Hill in a leisurely walk.*
