Reap what you sow

Nikitio sat in the courtyard of the 2nd Division. Division members were standing around staring at the sight. They all knew what was happening. Nikitio told them. Nikitio wanted an audience. He wanted them to see. He was not afraid to do what needed to be done. Nikitio was not a man to be toyed with. He sat in a simple chair on the patio of the barracks. He looked out into the courtyard. Nikitio's bodyguards sat around him. Usually he had five. One of them had died last week though. Nikitio had given him a burial. He had an idea for a new bodyguard. He just had to be sure first. He smiled in anticipation. He knew everyone saw it. He felt the tension in the air. If the captain was smiling, things were bound to be good. But it could also be bad. There were mixed feelings. Some people chatted. Nikitio just sat there. He knew the two males would arrive soon. He whispered to one of his guards. The guard nodded and vanished. He came back with a glass of lemonade for his Captain. Nikitio thanked him and took a sip. He placed it on the table and awaited the arrival of the two males.

the nurses managed to help hayashi to the barracks. one was carrying his zanpakuto another two were helping him walk. he was still bandaged up it was impossible to see his face. you could see blood dripping from some of his wounds still. the nurses brought hayashi near his captain but not right next to him. they did not trust him they found some were to seat him because he was heavy.

"captain nikitio we had to help him here so we will be sticking around. he is also in no condition to talk and as you can see he cant walk very well. it seems that he got worse when you left"

the nurse then returned to where they had sat down hayashi. they also did not take there eyes of the captain.

Nikitio watched them walk in. He held back a small chuckle. Sadistic? Who? Him? Naw. He listened to the nurse speak. Everyone looked at the Captain. He merely shook his head and chuckled. He took a sip of his lemonade. "He is well enough to talk back to his Captain. Well enough to give a long drawn out and pointless speech. Well enough to have the nerve to appear before me as he does. He is well enough I say. He has chosen his path. His reward will be delivered swiftly. If you truly wish to stand against me, you may. But that will be a direct challenge to my authority. As such, I will have the right to kill you." Nikitio's lips were flat. His eyes were cold and void of all emotion. "If you truly wish to invoke my power, then I encourage you to stand here and continue to feed me pitiful excuses. If you value your lives however, then I bid you adieu, and ask you leave my barracks." His voice was flat. It was apathetic. It reflected how he truly felt about all this. The squad members looked at Nikitio and then to the nurses. They were curious. They wanted a show. Nikitio was providing.

the nurses looked at each other then the captain. they gave him a death stare they were going to stay. just because it was the 2nd squad barracks does not mean he can kill them. that would be treason to kill some one from another squad.

"i am sorry sir but we are staying. if we leave he might start bleeding again. just because this is a different barracks does not mean we have to leave. i do add we dont mean disrespect to you but we have a duty"

the nurse then turned her attention back to hayashi. it seemed one of his wounds had opened again. if they left he could possibly die he was banged up. they had a big felling that his captain did something but there was nothing they could do unless they had proof.

Soon Adam arrived. He used Shunpo to get to 2nds barracks. Once there he looked to see all of 2nd assembled. Something was up. Well Adam knew this was going to happen. He was still a little tired. He hadn't taken a true rest for a little while now. He was also supressing his spirit engery. Which was instructed of him. No one yet knew of his Bankai. No one would. The only people who did know, where the two students, and his captain. Adam made sure to follow his orders. No one was to know. No one was to feel his true power. If they did they might feel the Hollows. It was risky. Adam didn't care though. He just acted the way he usually did.

Once he was up he walked past his LT. Then stopped infront of his captain. Once there he bowed. "Forgive my late arrival. But the medics did perform their duty on time. Just as you wanted." Adam said his head still down. Once he was done speaking he stood back up straight. He could feel all of 2nds eyes on him. It was a weird feeling. Adam just acted like he usually did though. Emotionless, and uncaring. Thats what was glued to his face anyways.

Nikitio yawned. He was hoping they would attack. Oh well. "There are worse things than death. Guards. Take these traitors to the Maggots Nest. I don't want a threat in our midsts. They are attempting to upset the balance of things. I am sorry that it had to come to this. I thank you for tending to my men for so long, but this is unacceptable. I cannot allow threats to exist to the Soul Society WITHIN it's own walls. Or outside of them for that matter. As such, you will be stripped of your powers and zanpakuto. After that you will be taken to the Maggots Nest." He snapped and his men got to work. The nurses struggled, but it was pointless. Their Zanpakuto's were taken, and their powers removed. Several 2nd Division members took the nurses to the Nest of Maggots. Nikitio looked to Adam as he bowed and apologized. He waved his hand dismissively. "I know why you are late, and it is fine. Now then. We are here because Vice-Captain Hayashi Bushinji has thought it okay to correct me. Let me make something perfectly clear. Whatever you think you know, I know more. While you all are drinking and partying, I am studying. While you fight for your lives. I fight to learn. While you all think you are so badass cause you come from the Rukongai. I grew up homeless, came here homeless, and made a name for myself. Don't you DARE to think to question my judgement. Hayashi Bunshinji risks his position today. The position of Lieutenant is on the line. You can see that this will happen while he is injured. A lot of you may question that. Let me inform you of this

The Onmitsukido is not about friendship. It is not about love. It is not about going out of your way to make sure your comrade is okay. If you see your allies losing, that's your chance. Don't step between them. Take the enemy down from behind. And if the enemy is so strong you can't even do that, then just watch your ally be killed. That's what it means to be Onmitsukidō." Those words were spoken by the previous Captain, Soifon. Before her they were spoken by another. And another and another and another. Those words were passed down from Captain to Captain. He looked at everyone. They seemed to relax as the message sank in. This is what had to be done. It was a punishment, and Nikitio was setting an example. "Third Seat, Adam Salvador is the challenger. Should Adam win, the position of Lieutenant becomes his. The rules are simple. Fight to win. Fight like a true Onmitsukido member. Fight like your life depends on it. Which brings me to the final rule, no killing. I will strike you down in a heartbeat if you do. He have medics on stand by should we need additional support. Adam. I ask you. Will you allow Hayashi to make use of these medics now? Or will you fight him as is? There is no shame in either decision. This is your fight, and so it is your choice."

Adam watched as the nurses where taken away. He didn't like the fact they had went AWOL on them. It pissed him off. It also made him made to know they forgot to see the medics who were in the group of 2nd division. Their duty was now over. And would be for a long. Very long time. Adam was glad to see them go. He didn't show it though. He just had his emotionless, and uncaring face on. He couldn't care less. Adam made sure to grab his Lt's Zanpakuto from them before they left. He then placed it in front of his Lt. After doing so he went back to listen to his captain's speach. It made him fell good. Really good. He came here the same way. homeless, and without a family. They were a lot a like. Adam's favourite part of the speach though was 2nd's code. A code he lived by. A code he would die by.

Adam could feel everyone in 2nd had an unshakeable loyalty to the captain. It was something not even captain commander could break.

Adam bowed. He knew this was needed. Adam then straightened up. He waved the medics over to his Lt. He wanted him to be in a better condition. He knew they wanted some sort of entertainment here. If they went without the medics it would end in the first blow.

as the medics came hayashi just sat there. he could not move or talk mind you the bandages had covered his mouth. after awhile the medics removed hayashi's bandages because they had finished healing him. hayashi was able to move again he felt his strength come back to him. hayashi picked up his zanpakuto and put them on. he then looked at adam and then his captain. hayashi bowed at his captain and said.

"i know i am going to fight either way. but before i do i would like to apologize for how i acted earlier. and i see that i should have stayed and fought while we were in Egypt. once again i apologize for leaving but that is the past now and i should look to the future. whether i win or lose at least i will know i fought with honor"

hayashi drew both his zanpakuto and took his stance. he then released his zanpakuto.

"Burn the heavens Doragon Kokouo"

hayashi's zanpakuto turned golden with fire around them. they gave off intense heat. hayashi charged at adam at full speed there was a reason he was the vice captain. his speed was great and he was very stealthy. hayashi vanished and appeared right above adam and swung one his zanpakuto down on adams right shoulders at full force while using the other to block an attack if adam gave one.

Adam stood there and watched his Vice. He waited for the medics to finish. It didn't take them long. They healed him quick. Faster than he had thought. They moved with perfection. They truly were 4th division shinigami. Adam stood there and watched as they began to remove his bandages. His wounds were healed. For the most part. They wouldn't open in the battle. Which was good. Adam then relaxed a bit. He began to increase his power just a little to match his Lt's. They were now even on power. For now. Adam listened to his speach. It was good. It was just to late. He should have admitted that in the first place. None of this would have happened if he did. It pissed Adam off even more. He had to calm himself a bit.

Adam bowed before his opponent. It was a sign of respect. Which it seemed his Lt didn't have. Adam relaxed a bit. He was focusing on his Lt's movements. He could hear him. It wasn't hard. After all he was still running. Adam sighed a bit. He didn't want to be mean. He knew his Lt was stronger then him right now. Seeing as he was in his shikai state. Adam wouldn't go to his though. It would send him a bit over his Lt's. He didn't want that. Not yet anyways. Adam was expecting his Lt's above attack. Adam just quickly moved out of the way. moving to his left. dodging his blade. Adam hadn't even pulled out his Zan yet. Adam sighed a bit. He was a little annoyed. But they were in 2nd division. Adam kept his emotionless facial expression. His cold light blue eyes looked at his Lt. Adam pulled out his zan. He didn't pull it out of his scabard. He wasn't yet. He wanted to scout out a weakness first then strike. It was as hard as the blade. Just would only break bones. There were many things he could have done. He just didn't see the use in them.

Adam moved up beside his Lt. Moving just as fast as he did. Adam had just raised his powers little bit. Once standing beside his Lt he came down fast at his Lt's head. If that would fail, and if he would attack Adam would quickly dissappeare a little to the Lt's right. Then he would block any incoming attacks from there.

Nikitio didn't react to Hayashi's apology. He said nothing to him. It didn't touch him. The words fell upon deaf ears. Nikitio doesn't enjoy listening to apologies. They are worse than excuses for failure. He feels the need to rip out throats of those who apologize. He refrained from this action though. This wasn't his fight. His reiatsu was low too. He could feel his problem growing. And he felt it inside Adam as well. Nobody else here would though. They didn't know what to look for. They didn't know what should be there. Nikitio kept his cold face though. His face was a mirror image of a winter storm. It was the poster child for apathy. He gave no hint to his inner feelings. What was there? Nothing. He didn't feel anything right now. Some might frown upon him. Some might praise him. Either way he didn't care. This was an example. This was a punishment. What was he suppose to do? Sentence him to work with the 4th Division in their trivial tasks? Ha! Such a thing is a slap on the wrist. It is no better than a time out. What is a few weeks of manual labor compared to a fight that is near impossible to win? Had he been in the 11th Division, this fight would be to the death. It would not end until someone was dead.

Nikitio looked at the two of them. Hayashi made the first move. He went into his shikai mode from the start. Nikitio sighed. He didn't know what to do. He was running out of options. Nikitio refrained from showing feelings or emotions. He observed Adam now. It was Adam's move. At least Hayashi went for a dual attack. Some people just went for a solo attack with both blades. While it lacked the same power, it would be slightly harder to dodge more or less. Adam did though. He not only dodged, but he returned with a strike of his own. Nikitio made a mental note of this. While he did he pulled out a while file with a tulip on the cover. He opened it and began to page through.

hayashi managed to block the first attacked adam made but not the second. hayashi shunpoed behind adam and pulled a trick move. hayashi made it look like he was going to slash adams back. while doing so he sneaked in a kido. hayashi pointed it at adam's right shoulder.

"hado #4 Byakurai"

a blue ball appeared at the tip of his fingers and he fired it.

Adam was expecting him to block. It gave him some more info. This was good. Very good. It meant he was getting closer. Adam was a little taken back by his sudden movement. Which he had a feeling he'd do. Since he did that at first. Adam made a quick twist dodging the slash to the back. He had to use the Shunpo to get away from the kido though. It was a tad late though. It hit his left arm. Once Adam stopped he looked at his hand. It felt a bit numb. It was as if his hand was asleep. "Crap..." Adam mummbled to himself. He knew this was going to feel really odd. But he had to do it.

Adam was now getting a little tired of this battle. He drew Sai. Once he did that he looked at his Lt. He kept his emotionless face. His light blue eyes though told his Lt something different. "It's time. Bankai!" Adam announced. His Reiryoku was a full once again. His spiritual energy was huge. It made a lot of the shinigami fall. They looked as if they couldn't breath. Adam didn't do anything. He stood there. Looking at his Lt. His blonde hair was now gone. It was now black, and white. His uniform had also been changed. As well as Sai. The three skulls were now emiting a green flame from the eyes. Adam began to walk towards his Lt. His Zanpakuto steady in his hand. "Shall we end this?" Adam asked his Lt.

Adam quickly dissapeared then reappeared behind his Lt. He then looked at his Lt. Adam said two words that would send shivers down this man's spin. "Death's bane." Adam said as he swung his blade towards hayashi. Soon a massive black wave appeared and headed for Hayashi. If he managed to dodge that he'd come up behind Hayashi, then swing his blad down at his left arm. If that failed and he sent an attack he'd block, then follow through with a hit to the gut with his blade.

hayashi managed to block adam's attack just barely though. hayashi used one of his zanpakuto to throw himself to dodge adam's attack. unfortunately hayashi could not dodge the attack fully. hayashi was hit on his left arm near the top of his shoulder but he did his best to ignore the pain. it cut deep and got his muscle hayashi's arm was numb but he could still move it but not without it hurting. he was surprised that adam had bankai. hayashi had to act quickly. hayashi started to spin his blades at a high speed and said.

"Yougan Kusabana"

as little fire balls were shot out of the tips of his blades. when they hit they made small scale explosions doing a good amount of damage to adam. hayashi was pulling out all he could to take adam down. hayashi then got some distance and then attacked again.

"Kouen Taihou"

hayashi gathered flames into his blades for an attack. he then shot the fire beam at adam hopping to hit him. hayashi then used another one of his techniques.

"Nenshou Bakudan"

hayashi formed a flame orb in each of his hands and combined them together. he then shot it at adam once on impacted it would explode. hayashi was doing his best to also conserve as much energy as he could. hayashi then moved to a different area and did another attack.

"Kasai Shuriken"

hayashi gathered orbs of flames in his hands and started to shoot them at adam. hayashi was getting tired now because he was giving this fight all he could. he was determined to fall from running out of energy his captain would scold him again if he did. hayashi then fired another kido at adam to make sure he did some real damage.

"hado #4 Byakurai"

as a blue orb formed on top of hayashi fingers he shot it at adam. he aim for his right again this time hopping to hit him.

Adam watched Hayashi. It was quite amazing to see. He had dodged his attack. Well not fully. It still hit him a bit. It cut his arm. Adam didn't smile. He didn't laugh. He only shook his head. That wasn't what he was expecting. He was thinking he was going to get hit. That back fired. It made him a bit annoyed at himself. In his eyes it was a failure. He wished it had done more. Adam shook his head. No it was fine. He had injured him. It wasn't that bad. He could still move it. Adam wondered how much longer this fight would last. He still had a lot of energy. It was as if he hadn't used any. Well it would look that way, and feel that way.

Adam didn't respond to Hayashi's attacks. He watched everyone. As each was sent Adam began to focus. He began to listen. He closed his eyes. He was now in a relaxed state. It was as if time was slowing. Adam could hear each blast head towards him. He used Shunpo to dodge the first two. Weving and diving around the blasts as well as fire balls. Some hit his clothing as he came down or spun away. One gave him a little cut across his cheek. Adam didn't pay attention to this though. He just kept moving on. He stopped as he saw Hayashi send a massive fire ball at him. Adam knew this was going to be fun. Adam stepped a little to his left. Pushing his foot down hard. He then used Shunpo to get around it. It was massive. Once it passed him he wasn't expecting an after shock. He then heard a huge explosion behind him. Adam didn't turn around He just kept pushing himself foward. He used a little bit of energy to keep himself on the ground. Adam was starting to get annoyed. His Lt sent nothing but flame attacks his way. Adam sighed. He then looked to see Hayashi send more fire balls his way. Adam ducked, dived, and spun around the orbs. Some managed to cut him a bit. Adam didn't pay attention to any of them. He just made it look like nothing happened.

Adam's eyes went wide. His Lt just used another Kido move on him. "Damn it..." Adam mummbled to himself. He then swung his blade up keeping the tip pointed at the ground. "Black shield." Adam said. Soon a black shadow like shield formed around Adam. The bright blue orb hit it hard. Adam kept it where it was. After all he could only use it. He could also dispell it. Adam then dissappeared. He then reappeared beside Hayashi. He swung his blade with lighting speed at his right arm. If that failed he would move to jab his left leg. Each attack would be made with lighting speed. If they both failed Adam would send block his blade attacks. If a Kido he'd fall back behind his black shield.

hayashi watched as adam dodged or blocked his attacks. soon adam was right beside him and going for his right arm. hayashi had to think quick he could try his best to evade the attack but adam would only attack again. it seemed time slowed down and it looked like there was no hope for hayashi. then it came to him and not a second to late either. hayashi turned and faced adam and let him get hit by his attack. adam's attack hit him on his left arm again but near the elbow it was not as serious as the first one. to others this would seem insane but there was a method behind this. hayashi grabbed were adam was holding his blade and gripped it with his right hand so adam could not get away. in a weak voice hayashi said.

"so far you were either able to block or dodge my other attacks adam. but this time you wont be able to dodge this one"

hayashi smiled and said.

"hado #4 Byakurai"

as the blue orb formed on top of hayashi's fingers and he aimed it at adam's right arm. hayashi used his left hand though it still hurt he could still aim with it an put his finger right on adam's right arm. hayashi would not miss this time as he fired the kido at point blank range. if this worked adam would not be able to fight any more because he would not be able to move his right arm. hayashi really hoped it would work to because he would not be able to last much longer in this fight.

Nikitio took a sip of his lemonade slowly. His Winter-like eyes watching the fight. He would look down now and then to read through the file. He would give a casual smile at it sometimes. Other times he would shake his head and rub his temples. The file was interesting. It spoke of a division member who was no longer with him. Why was he looking at it? Because he loved knowledge. Past and present members were all important because you could learn from the dead. He looked through his academy records. His face instantly masked over with a look of apathy. These records were amazing. His scores in things seemed to be near perfect. He didn't seem to have too bad of a life in the Rukongai either. Life there was always bad though. But there was bad, and there was really bad. He lived in the 6th District. And the closer you were to the Seireitei, the more protection you got. Six was not too bad off. They almost lost him to the 4th Division. That would have been bad. Such talents would have been wasted there. Nikitio respects the 4th Division, but if you can fight you belong in another division.

This guy could fight. He also was incredibly gifted. He entered the academy with a 92% on his exam. He was placed in all advanced classes. He got 2 percent more than Nikitio did. Nikitio didn't get into advanced classes simply because that required a bit more work with other people, and Nikitio refused to learn while X amount of other kids were standing around holding him up. But he didn't want to be in a slow class either. So he was put up for "adoption" for a single teacher for each class that would teach him as if he were an advanced student, but on the record the class wasn't advanced. This man had finished his schooling earlier than six years. Because of his selected division though he needed to be trained in stealth and the like. So he was in school for a while longer. The thing that amazed him, and pleased him, the most was his history. He got straight A's in history. This was very good. Nikitio wondered where he was now.

He read ahead a bit. He eventually joined the 2nd Division. He was placed in charge of the 32nd Rukongai Area. His job was to look out for Hollow attacks. He found an attachment to that paper. It was a list of all the Hollow he'd killed. His average killings. And his greatest accomplishment as far as Hollow goes. On average he slew 389 Hollow a year. Rather impressive. Either the Hollow wanted him dead, or he was looking for them. He got a special award for slaying Hollow too. Not just any Hollow. But he slew 2 Adjucha level Hollow by himself. He wasn't even a lieutenant though. This spoke a lot about him. He was clearly a powerful Shinigami. He had taken on over one thousand missions, and completed them all. He had been issued an Assassination too. That also went off rather well.

The target of assassination was a human. This human had some rather interesting abilities. He had a connection to technology as well as reiatsu. It allowed him to enhance the power of those with high reiatsu as well as any technological device. Of course the Arrancars got to him before the Shinigami could. So what else was there to do but kill him? In Nikitio's opinion, he should have died a while ago. Someone like that should not exist. Nikitio was glad this man had killed him. At the time the captain was Captain Kensu. Nikitio had heard of him. He was a good captain. He rarely gave out compliments. He reminded him of Nikki in a way. Nonetheless, he was a damn good Captain. He left a personal note on this man's records.

"A person with the ability to have no connections with people and still gain their trust, perfect candidate for assassinations."

Nikitio was only reading the file, but he could believe it. He saw that in little time Capatin Kensu promoted him. He moved ahead quite a bit. Going from a lowly fifth seat, up to a third seat. This was something also impressive. He skipped ahead to his death. He was exicuted. But why? There was no given reason. The only thing there was Operation Purify. A nagging feeling danced in the back of his mind. He closed the fill and looked back to the fight in time to see Hayashi gripping Adam and firing a Hado. Just because he hadn't been looking didn't mean he didn't know what was going on. He had ears. He could hear. And he heard everything Hayashi said. He spoke too much for Nikitio's tastes. Nonetheless, this battle was over. Nikitio didn't need to finish this.

He raise spoke a few words. "Bakudo eighty-one. Danku." The location of the shield was such so that part of it stepped between Adam and Hayashi. The Hado crashed into the shield. Hayashi might suffer some temporary lung damage and maybe some burn wounds, but he'd be fine otherwise. "This match is over. The winner is Adam. All of you get back to work. Adam. I ask that you accompany me to the Human World. It is not needed, nor is this a demand. But the invitation is there." He stood up and walked away from the barracks. He had something he needed to check on.

Adam was suprised. The battle was just getting good now. Adam back up a bit. Taking his blade from the Lts hand. Adam then walked towards his captain. He wasn't really sure what just happened. It all happened so fast. He didn't even see this thing coming. He just wanted to be sure he wasn't going to have to worry about this fight. It was over. He was declared winner. Winner. That word meant nothing to him. It was just an empty word. He knew that in every win you actually lose. Adam then turned to face his Lt. He bowed then returned back up. He then walked up to his Captain.

"Yeah. I'll come. I haven't been to the human world without having to fight something." Adam replied. He was still a bit tired. But hey he didn't care. He then stopped his bankai. He was done here. For now anyways. He didn't know what would happen. He wondered if the Hollow would take him. No never.
